How about showing your patriotism by making a Flower Pot that is painted similar to the American Flag? You could use these as flower pots or if you are having friends and family over then you could place wrapped candy or other goodies inside the pot and place on your tables.

Materials Needed:

small clay pot and saucer
1 - one inch wooden ball (this is used if you want your pot to have a lid)
cardboard
red, white and blue acrylic paint
paint brushes
masking tape
sand paper
glue gun
glossy spray varnish

Instructions:

Paint entire saucer blue. Paint the outside of the pot's rim blue. Paint the rest of the pot white. Allow to dry. You will need to apply a second coat of blue and white paint to pot and saucer to ensure all is covered. Apply strips of masking tape evenly spaced vertically from rim to base of pot. Paint stripes with two coats of red paint. Allow to dry then carefully remove tape.

Create a star on thin cardboard to use as a pattern. Trace star outlines evenly spaced around rim of pot. Paint stars white.

If you want you pot to have a lid then follow these instructions:

Sand the wooden ball in one spot to make a flat area. Paint ball white. Glue flat area to center bottom of saucer with glue gun. This creates the lid. Spray pot and lid with varnish to protect it.

These would look great as centerpieces on your tables!

Brandi also has blogs on Wedding Decor and More!,Looking At Cooking, Mother's Day Craft Ideas, Craft Ideas, Craft Tips,Easy Kid's Craft Ideas, Father's Day Craft Ideas

4th of July Craft Ideas

4th of July Craft Ideas

4th of July Craft Ideas - Be Sure To Subscribe

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I will be adding pictures to this blog. There are so many ways you could get creative with this project but we'll talk about that later.

Patriotic Heart Pin

Materials Needed:

Wooden Hearts (found at most craft stores)
Paint (Red, White and Blue of course)
Paint brushes
Protectant
Pin backs

Paint the wooden heart with a patriotic them. For instance, you could paint the left portion of the heart blue with small white stars, and then the right half could be red and white stripes.

Note: Another painting idea is to paint the heart yellow to support the troops and then add your own patriotic flare by painting small USA flags randomly on the heart.

After paint is dry apply some sort of protectant so that if the pin were to get wet the wood would not be damaged. I can't really be specific as to what type of protectant to buy because it will depend on the paints used.

Glue the pin back to the back of the heart.

Now you have your own Patriotic Pin! Wear it with pride!

Brandi also has blogs on Easter Craft Ideas, Mother's Day Craft Ideas, Father's Day Craft Ideas, Craft Ideas, Craft Tips, Easy Kid's Craft Ideas

4th of July Craft Ideas

4th of July Craft Ideas

Show Your Patriotism - How To Make Patriotic Glass Charms

The 4th of July is all about Patriotism. It's a time to spend with family and friends, eating hotdogs and Bar-B-Que and watching the smiles on the childrens' faces when the fireworks are lighting up the night sky, but most of all to reflect and thank those who fought for our freedom.

If you plan on having a Patriotic celebration this year then making glass charms would be a fun, easy, but pretty craft to make.

Usually the glass charms are to fit a wine glass, but if you are using glasses with handles then you could attach the glass charms to the handle.

Materials needed:

Stemware Hoops - Can be found at craft stores; you decide the size depending on the size handle they will be attached to.

Red, White and Blue Beads (again, the size will depend on the size of the stemware hoops-make sure the end of the stemware will fit through the bead)

Patriotic Charms are optional

Head pins - May be needed if using charms

Needle-nosed pliers will be needed if using head pins

The stemware hoops already have a small hook at the end that allows the hoop to clasp. So once unclasped, place your beads how you like on the stemware.

If you are using charms, and the charm hoop does not twist then you may need to attach a head pin so that the charm is displayed correctly. To do this, place the head pin through the charm and then twist the head pin around the stemware. Cut with needle-nosed pliers.

Now you have pretty glass charms that are sure to show your Patriotism!

You can see some Patriotic Charms that I've made by clicking here.

Brandi also has blogs on Mother's Day Craft Ideas, Easter Craft Ideas, Father's Day Craft Ideas, and other Craft Ideas

4th of July Craft Ideas
